General Scholarship Gifts

  • Gifts under $250 contributed to the BCCC Foundation will be placed in the general scholarship pool for distribution.
  • Gifts will be recognized as a contribution to the BCCC general scholarship fund.

Named Scholarships

  • A scholarship can be established and named for a gift of $1,200 with a commitment for future donations.
  • The donor will be asked to complete and sign a memorandum of understanding establishing the criteria for distribution of the monies of $250 or more annually.
  • The temporary restricted fund will receive no interest or dividends nor be charged any fees from the Foundation.
  • If there is no activity in the fund within two fiscal years, the existing monies in the fund will be transferred to the BCCC Foundation general scholarship fund for distribution.

Permanent Endowed Scholarship

  • A permanently endowed scholarship can be established with a gift of $10,000 or more.
  • The donor will be asked to complete and sign a memorandum of understanding establishing the criteria for distribution of the monies.
  • Endowed funds receive interest, dividends, capital gains and are assessed investment fees. Interest is posted semi annually to the fund.
  • In accordance with the BCCC Foundation’s spending policy, awards are made from the interest earned.
  • The Foundation is presently charging no administrative fees on endowed funds; however, the Foundation board has the power to charge a fee of up to 5% of total annual earnings.
  • If the fund does not reach $10,000 within five fiscal years of being established, the principal and any uncommitted earnings will be transferred to the BCCC general endowment fund principal. Pooled earnings will be distributed according to the endowed spending policy.
